What is GIS?
A GIS is a geographic information system. GIS helps people think spatially and approach porblems from a geographic perspective.
GIS integrates hardware, software, and data to help people understand a wide variety of information about the world. This spatial data is typically viewed on digital and hardcopy maps that reveal patterns, illustrate problems, and show connections that are not otherwise evident.
