Mindfulness & Meditation for Student Wellness

Event box

Join us on Thursday, April 16 at 12:30 PM as we welcome guest speaker Venerable Burin Thitakusalo.

Venerable Burin is the Executive Director of the Middle Way Meditation Institute, a New York–based global nonprofit dedicated to promoting inner peace education as a pathway to world peace. Ordained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand in 2000, he works to bridge Eastern wisdom and Western science in service of humanity.

Through his “World Peace through Inner Peace” initiative, he has reached individuals from all walks of life, teaching thousands of meditators across more than 30 countries on six continents. He also serves as a spiritual advisor at both New York University and Columbia University.

In this session, Venerable Burin will introduce mindfulness and meditation practices to support student wellness. The presentation will include a brief guided meditation followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

This event is co-sponsored by the Behavioral Science Club, Nutrition and Movement Club, and the Student Veteran Organization (SVO). Light refreshments will be provided.
