Learn simple and effective database search techniques. This workshop introduces you to transferable skills that can be used to find books or articles in any database! Learn how to use how our online catalog of library holdings and tour a few key research databases. In this workshop we'll cover:

Searching the NYIT Library’s online catalog.

Basic database search techniques: keyword searching, Boolean operators “and”, “or” and "not".

Topic development and refining research questions for best database results.

Let's practice what we learn by using interdisciplinary databases such as Proquest and academic search complete.
