Have you ever thought about the way that you figure out what rap lyrics mean as research? Ever listened to a distrack and looked up what it was in reference to? In this workshop we will be thinking critically about how those research methods you use informally can be applied to your formal research papers and projects! You already know what you are doing, you just aren't thinking about it the same way! 

In this workshop we will be investigating a hip hop track and music video pivotal to the way hip hop has acted as a vehicle for expression of the Black experience in the United States.
