Learn simple and effective database search techniques. This workshop introduces you to transferable skills that can be used to find books or articles in any database. This workshop covers: 

  • Searching for NYIT Library's online catalog of holdings on-campus or thru interlibrary services-get a book you need to be sent to and from Wisser library in old Westbury. 
  • Basic database search techniques: keyword searching, Boolean operators, and filtering results. 
  • Topic development and refining research questions for best results. 
  • Learn how to use interdisciplinary databases such as Proquest database and Academic Search Complete.
